Dear Parents and Students of B-12:
WOW! What a wonderful treat to be so spoiled by you during Teacher Appreciation Week!  Every day was something different and a nice surprise. I’m so grateful to all of you for making me feel so special and appreciated. The gift cards are amazing and will be put to use quickly. I’ve already purchased a lovely planter some tomato plants, and an array of herbs from Home Depot.

I can’t believe that summer is upon us. I feel like we just celebrated Winter Break. This time of year is full of mixed emotions for me. I’m sad to say goodbye to all the familiar faces that I have nurtured, loved, and taught since September but happy to send my students off knowing they are ready for next year. This group of students is an amazing bunch. I’ve been able to do so much with them because they are so cooperative, kind, smart, and motivated. But summer is almost here and we’ve all worked so hard (including you) and we deserve some time to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the best San Diego and summer has to offer. It has been a wonderful year and I am truly blessed and lucky to have taught your child this year. Thank you for all your support this year both in and outside the classroom. And again, THANK YOU for the wonderful gift cards and goodies.

Love,

Mrs. McKelvey

Last week was our annual school performance. This year's show was called Where in the World is Mr. Juarez. Our students performed different dance numbers to different songs. Each grade level represented a different continent of the world. Third grade was Europe. What an amazing job everyone did in the school performance. I really enjoyed watching you all perform. Check out the photos I posted on our photos website.

On Friday, March 26th, Curie held it's annual Multicultural Fair. What a fantastic event! I'm always surprised to see just how many different cultures are represented at our wonderful school--Iran, France, Canada, China, Korea, Italy, Ireland, Peru...I'm wondering which country (or region) my students enjoyed visiting the most? Go ahead and post it to our class blog. Be sure to include details about your visit.
We also had a tea party in our classroom...so that I could share a little of my own culture with the students. We had tea and scones and it was lovely. Many of the students came back for a second and third helping.
